COMPOSED- SOLO EXHIBITION
A woman reflects on the decade that has passed. In her thirties, she starts a family.
Armed with a camera, she embarks on a journey of exploration, documenting her path. Yael Argov-Hacmun's photographs are a travelogue that exists in the space between daily documentation and fantasy. These elements coexist in her images. The subjects of her photography are drawn from everyday life: family portraits, domestic spaces, vegetation, public gardens, and architectural details. These snapshot-like images create a sense of wandering and immediacy while offering a glimpse into staging and scenery. The composition of these images seeks to piece together the parts, to create a story or solve a mystery.
Each picture captures a special moment, raising the question - what do we choose to remember? and which memories or dreams do we choose to leave behind?
From the collection of photographs, a new narrative emerges, somewhere between what really happened and what was invented - revealing blurred boundaries of truth and memory.
The exhibition took place at the Vitrina Gallery named after Julia Mizrahi, Design Department, Holon Institute of Technology, 2018. Curator: Maya Anner.
